Le Festival du Cinéma et des Cultures Européennes est une initiative organisée parla Maison de l’Europe Strasbourg-Alsace (MESA), mettant à l’honneur le pays quiassure la présidence du Conseil de l’Union européenne pour le premier semestre del’année concernée. Le festival prend lieu tous les ans au mois de juin. Créé en 2020,il a pour vocation de promouvoir la diversité culturelle européenne, de favoriser ledialogue interculturel et de sensibiliser le public aux grands enjeux contemporains àtravers le cinéma et le débat.Organisé à Strasbourg, ville emblématique de la construction européenne et siègede nombreuses institutions européennes, le Festival réunit cinéastes, universitaires,diplomates, artistes, représentants de la société civile et citoyens autour d’uneprogrammation culturelle et intellectuelle ouverte à tous.Cette année, la sixième édition du Festival, organisée les 12, 13 et 15 juin 2026,était consacrée à la Méditerranée, avec Chypre comme pays à l’honneur, dans lecadre de sa présidence du Conseil de l’Union européenne au premier semestre de 2026. À travers projections, débats et animations culturelles, cette édition a proposé une réflexion sur les identités méditerranéennes, les défis contemporains de larégion et les perspectives de coopération entre les pays.
